A Proven System to Succeed: The Next Level Achievement System (David Byrd)

A Proven System to Succeed: The Next Level Achievement System (David Byrd)

-The foundation of an effective personal management system
-The purpose of the system: to overcome your natural human instinct of comfort and safety, ie staying where you are.

The Four Elements
#1: A Vision Statement: Should be less than one page and should be written in present tense.  It is a description of your life 5 years in the future as if you are already there.  Do not limit your potential, this is the foundation to your future planning.
#2.  Annual goals:  At the beginning of each year set 3-5 annual goals that will move you closer to your vision
#3  Monthly Plans:;  The actions steps from your annual goals filter down into your monthly plans
#4  Daily Actions:  Each day of your month should transfer to your daily actions, one day at a time.  Important things to do, contacts and follow ups, time schedule of your day

Plan your day before each day begins
Know each night before going to bed all you have to do the next day, so you never lay in bed thinking about all the things you need to get done, this keeps you balanced and prevents procrastination
Write down affirmations everywhere so you keep focused on your future, remind yourself daily of where you are going “I will sacrifice spare time so I will have abundance”, “Get up, get dressed, show up, and never give up”, “This is my time”, “I will not quit until I win”, “I attract to me an abundance of health, wealth, and happiness”...Stick affirmations everywhere and NEVER GIVE UP!

Begin with a list of dreams, write down all the things you want in your future, no matter how bold, how big, how crazy!  It’s your list, your life, your dreams.
Your goals will help you write your vision statement as you add your dreams into your vision

The Vision Statement
Clarity Creates Focus
The clearer (mental picture) of your future, the more focused your daily activities will be
Envision a future as you want it to be
*From Mark Smith: To be a high achiever, you need a super strong vision.  When you have a vivid goal in mind and you are sold on it, then you will break every barrier that tries to get in your way.  No negative , no curve ball, and no person will be able to stop you.  Successful people have the same challenges as everyone else- but they handle the challenges differently because they have a vision that carries them through.
Step 1:  Pick a date in the future, write down all the facts that would relate to your life at that time, such as your age, ages of the members of your family, home, location, activities
Step 2: Define your future, exactly what you want your future to look like in 5 years, your future as you want it to be
Step 3: Write it out in a narrative description in the present tense as if your are already there
No more than one page, it should evoke emotions, with sights, sounds, feelings
Step 4: Post it so you can read it daily, so you develop a clear mental picture

The power of Vision: long term vision is the key to energy, focus, and consistency.
Clarity of Vision acts as a magnet, for you attract to yourself that which you set out for yourself.

*From Mark Smith:  “if you don’t have a plan, plan to fail”, we are all on the school bus of life.  You can be a passenger or a driver.  When you are not the driver, someone else is.  You may have to unbuckle the comfortable seat belt and ask the driver for permission to drive, you will gain more responsibility and that may be uncomfortable, but you will have the lead and you can go where you want, choose to be uncomfortable and choose to lead, and you are choosing to WIN!

GOALS
“If you’re not achieving at the level you want, it is simply because your goals are not clearly defined” Paul J. Meyer

Goals turn dreams into reality in small, annual increments
Set only a few big goals a year
“What specific goals can I achieve this year that will move me closer to my vision and my dreams?”
Dream are not goals but they are the beginning of goals, write down everything that comes to mind, print pictures, put them where you can see them daily, make a dream board, visualize it
The Process:
#1: review your vision statement
#2:  Read through your dream list
#3:  Choose your top goals ;(1-5 for the year)
Take action on your goals
Part #1: Benefits to be gained and losses to be avoided (write down all the benefits to be gained and what you want to avoid)
Part #2: Obstacles and solutions: write down how you will solve each obstacle that may arise
Part #3: Specific action steps:  make sure each action is specific, has a target date for completion.  SMART goals, specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and tangible.

“Your fortune is found in your daily routine”, stay focused on daily execution of your goals, comes down to your daily method of operation YOUR 8 POINTS A DAY

By following this system, your vision and dreams slowly grow into reality.
You move past being a mere goal setter to a master goal achiever!!!

Monthly Goals:
To remind yourself of “who you are” with a mission/vision statement “ I am ___________”
To identify your top priorities for the month
To organize time scheduled events on a monthly calendar so you can see it at a glance
